PERSONAL STEWARDSHIP

Stewardship focuses on our time, talents and treasures.  When it comes to service to the church there are so many ways in which we can all serve our church community.  We invite you to consider your current service to the community and how you might be a part of other church activities.  Riverside is an active and energetic church with many opportunities to participate and deepen your church experience.

Stewardship includes:
·         How we share the gifts we have been given
·         How we practice our faith
·         How we support God’s mission

LEGACY GIVING OPTIONS

Estate gifts enhance the continuation of our ministry, offers tax advantages, and provide the opportunity to contribute to a positive future. A gift in your will or other legacy endowment provides Riverside with the opportunity to continue to enhance and transform our ministry with our congregation, community and beyond.

Bequest In Your Will

Provisions in your will to disburse your assets as you wish allows one to make a meaningful gift to your church and reduces or eliminates tax implications for your estate. Consider a specified dollar amount or a percentage of your estate which avoids the need to amend your will with any changes. Gifts in kind include specific items such as art, a cottage or home or a business. An excellent resource is the United Church of Canada Will Workbook

Other Investments (now and future gifts)

Each type of gift has different benefits for you and the church. Life Insurance, annuities (irrevocable gift to the church for a guaranteed lifetime income), RRSPs/RRIFs, TFSAs, GICs or cash savings accounts may be donated by designating Riverside as the beneficiary. For more information about these types of gifts please contact our church Treasurer or Stewardship Committee through the Administration Office.

Publicly Traded Securities

Gifts of publicly traded securities may be made during your life or in your will and will eliminate your capital gains tax and provide other benefits. For more information, please contact the church Treasurer or Stewardship Committee through the Administration Office.

Please review these considerations with your legal and financial advisors who specialize in incorporating philanthropy into estate and legacy planning.

In whatever form you choose to support the service and mission of Riverside United Church, we thank you.  Your gifts, made after prayerful consideration, are gratefully accepted.
