RIVERSIDE QUILTERS
Do you like colour, pattern, sewing and friendship? Then the Riverside Quilters are for you. We are celebrating 25 years at Riverside. The group formed in 1999 as a six-month millennium project to make the beautiful wall hangings you see in the sanctuary, but we had so much fun that we kept going.
The Quilters meet at the church in the afternoon of the fourth Wednesday of each month (except for summer). Over the years we have made many quilts, prayer squares, antependium, altar cloths, wall hangings and ministerial stoles to name a few. We have learned new blocks and techniques. We help and encourage each other and share many laughs around the quilt table.
Most of the quilts we have made over the years have been given away in support of local charities and even national quilt campaigns such as Quilts for Survivors and Quits of Valour. A quilt is like a big warm hug that offers comfort and memories and healing.
We try to go on a shop hop road trip once a year to quilt shops outside London. Fun, fabric and food all in one day!
We welcome anyone who wishes to come out and join us. If you are new to quilting, we will offer advice and if you are an old hand, you can offer advice to us! For more information contact Susan O’Hara at 519-472-3320 or paohara@rogers.com.
